Crunch

Here I am, back at the computer while I wait for some goat cheese ravioli to heat up.  I haven't been to the gym all year.  I tried to go last night after work.  I came home, put on my gym clothes (including my sneakers), sat on the couch and couldn't get myself to go.  So I slept in my sports bra and tank top with every intention of taking a class in the morning before work with my favorite teacher Vladamir.  I went to bed at 10 p.m. last night (so early!) and my upstairs neighbor decided to drop heavy objects on the floor.  It seriously sounds like all of her furniture is on wheels and she waits until I'm in bed before she rearranges her apt.  Needless to say, I didn't get to sleep until after midnight so when my alarm went off this morning at 6:20 it was all over for the gym.  Ok fine, so I packed a gym bag so I could go to the gym straight after work without giving in to the comfy couch.  At 5:55 I changed into my gym clothes and headed to the subway.   There's a train there so I jump on and it doesn't move.  The conductor announces that there was a stalled train causing "heavy" train traffic.  Then the doors shut and we pull out of the station, but at the slowest pace possible.  Then I realize I got on an E train, which isn't supposed to be at that stop.  It's only F & V's on that line.  So at this point we're crawling and I have no idea where this train is headed.  This is not looking good.  I have 10 minutes before my class.  How can someone be dressed for the gym on three separate occasions and not make it to the gym once?!  Well, I MADE IT with one minute to spare.  Turns out the class before mine ran over so I was fine.  I actually had a minute to watch the men (so many-must be new years resolution time) lift weights.  I recommend watching them.   I would love to know what they're thinking as they watch themselves in the mirror and then watch each other in between reps.  So I survived my first class of the year.  The class after mine is pole dancing and you should have seen the group of girls waiting to go in.  I've seen the class participants before and never thought anything of it, but this was like the gym told them there was  strict dress code and the more like a stripper you looked, the better the work-out.  I went to wash my hands (I don't know whose hands are all over those weights) and almost ran into this girl I thought was a man (definitely there for the pole dancing class).  She was followed by another manly girl and I thought to myself there's a good chance you could catch an STD if you took this class.  I can't wait for the BoA gym to open so I can take classes with fellow straight edge bankers and not former Scores employees.

Oh for all you DG's...the Bank of America building is referred to as OBP, which stands for One Bryant Park.  Everytime I hear it, I think OTP...I miss the porch.

One last thing...one of my clients got a new VP Finance over the summer.  I met with her in August and we have exchanged countless e-mails/phone calls since.  Maybe like the 3rd time she e-mailed me she wrote Laura.  I was like fine, she should know my name but she's human.  Yesterday she sent me two e-mails.  One had the president of her company on it (and I know him well) and she called me Lauren.  On the other e-mail she wrote Laura.  I think she's doing it ON PURPOSE.  So fine ugh I guess she thinks my name isn't worth knowing, but today she sent me an e-mail with 3 other people copied on it and called me Laura.  Is it me or should she know my a name is L-A-U-R-E-N?  Her name is Adrienne.  I'm supposed to speak with her tomorrow morning.  Maybe I should call her Annie or something.  Ok I'm done complaining, but each time it happens I want to scream b/c  it's rude!!!

K Ravioli is done.  Bye!
